Cycles of legal-political training in Justice, Prisons and Extrication

The initiative seeks to build a political-pedagogical project, based on the methodology of popular legal education, and materializes in cycles of legal-political training with relatives of people deprived of liberty, based on partnerships with social movements in the fight against incarceration massive violence and all forms of state violence in Rio de Janeiro.

The project bets on the political centrality of strengthening popular movements and increasing the organizational capacity of their bases, as a strategic path for the fight against state violence.

In 2022, we carried out the first training cycle of this project, which we called “Warriors for Extrication: legal-political training in the justice system and the rights of prisoners”. This first training cycle was carried out in partnership with AMUGUE – Associação de Mulheres Guerreiras, an organization of family members of prisoners that operates in the city of Petrópolis, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro.
