Faith in the Climate

Created by ISER in 2015, based on the accumulation of knowledge and experiences gathered since the 1990s, the initiative Faith in the Climate Its mission is to sensitize and engage religious leaders and youth to raise awareness and mobilize their faith communities to face the climate crisis. We do this through the exchange of knowledge between scientists, religionists, environmentalists and representatives of indigenous peoples and traditional communities, with the objectives of adaptation, resilience and climate justice.

Today, the work encompasses a series of activities, such as dialogue meetings and training with scientists, religious people and traditional peoples; promotion of thematic conversations of religious leaders with their faith communities; active participation in networks and spaces of the climate agenda, both national and international, especially in Latin America; production and dissemination of information on environmental and climate issues through booklets, films and other means of communication, in addition to continuous articulation to reach other groups and communities of faith.
