Research Evangelical women and politics

From the understanding, built by several opinion polls, that evangelical women will play a crucial role in national elections in Brazil, the Institute of Religious Studies (ISER) carried out, during the months of May to July 2022, the research “ Evangelical women, politics and daily life”.

The objective was to contribute to new studies on the subject, with qualitative data, based on elements already raised in other investigations on evangelical women, who are almost 60% of this religious segment, mostly black and low-income.

For this, an investigation was carried out in the triad regime (mediated interview with a group of three women gathered by sampling mixtures and the same age group, for about two hours). A team of 15 researchers mediated the triads, with a total of 45 women, between 16 and 65 years old, from all regions of Brazil, of different age groups, colors and social classes, who do not know each other and attend evangelical churches of different branches of the segment, at different addresses.Learn more: Evangelical women beyond the vote: conceptions about politics and daily life – Religion and Power
