Youth, culture and citizenship

The FALA GALERA Project, developed by UNESCO in Rio de Janeiro, aimed to O strengthening of the social role of culture through articulation with other andspheres of public action and the use of successful community experiences aimed at youth. Among Brazilian cities, attention is drawn to the mobilizing capacity of Rio de Janeiro to create daily alternatives for the use of art and culture in confronting social ills. This book brings together some of these experiences..

On the other hand, important experiences carried out in São Paulo and Porto Alegre, also present in this book, make us bet on a delicate engineering that can insert cultural activities in the formulation of public policies for youth.

Transforming this capital into a cultural policy capable of generating a political culture of respect for citizen rights, dialogue and social equality is a challenge for all of us.
